Website Terms
Last updated: 2 August 2026
Please read these terms before using this website. They explain the rules that apply when you visit or use https://www.softtracestudio.com.
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the website.
These terms apply only to use of the website. They do not govern the purchase, pre-order, delivery or return of any product or service. Any future purchase or commissioned work will be subject to separate terms provided before an order or contract is confirmed.

In these terms, “SoftTrace Studio”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Shuting Lei trading as SoftTrace Studio.
2. Other policies that apply
Our Privacy Notice, available at https://www.softtracestudio.com/privacy, explains how we collect and use personal information.
Our Cookie Policy, available at https://www.softtracestudio.com/cookies, explains how this website uses cookies and similar technologies.
If you submit a test request, take part in a material trial, receive a sample, commission work or purchase a product, additional written terms may apply. If there is a conflict, those specific terms will take priority for that activity.
3. Website access
We provide this website free of charge.
We may update, suspend, restrict or withdraw any part of the website where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security, legal or business reasons. We do not promise that the website or any content will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
You are responsible for the device, software and internet connection used to access the website. You are also responsible for making sure that anyone who accesses the website through your connection is aware of these terms.
4. Information on this website
The website provides general information about SoftTrace studio, TraceMatter™, material development, 3D printing, prototypes, samples, projects and possible collaborations.
We take reasonable care when preparing this information. However, website content is provided for general information and may not be complete, current or suitable for your particular purpose. It is not professional, engineering, scientific, regulatory, environmental, safety or legal advice.
Images, renders, colours, textures and samples are illustrative. Appearance may vary because of lighting, screens, feedstock, natural inclusions, production methods, print settings and batch variation.
Nothing on this website constitutes an offer capable of acceptance, a guarantee that a product or service is available, or a commitment to accept an application, testing request, project or order. Contacting us does not create a contract. A contract is formed only when its scope, price and applicable terms have been confirmed in writing.
5. Development materials, specifications and print guidance
TraceMatter™ is under development. Unless a page clearly states otherwise, samples, test filament, prototypes, specifications and print settings shown on this website should be treated as development information. They may change before or after commercial release.
Technical values may come from supplier information, test reports, test specimens or specific material formulations. Results from an injection-moulded test specimen, base resin or particular batch may not predict the performance of a finished filament, printed part or different formulation.
Suggested print settings are starting points only. Results can vary with the printer, nozzle, build plate, software, geometry, environment, storage, drying, calibration and operator. You are responsible for checking compatibility, carrying out appropriate tests and following the instructions and safety information supplied by the printer, material and equipment manufacturers.
Do not rely on website content when an error or failure could cause injury, property damage, regulatory non-compliance or significant financial loss. Contact us for the latest product-specific information and obtain suitable professional advice where necessary.
6. Environmental claims, testing and certification
Any environmental, biodegradation, compostability, chemical compliance or safety statement must be read with the conditions, scope and qualifications shown beside it or in the linked evidence.
Biodegradation and composting outcomes depend on factors such as the precise formulation, dimensions, temperature, moisture, microorganisms, exposure and length of time. A claim about performance under one set of test conditions does not mean that the same result will occur in every natural, home, soil, marine, waste-management or disposal environment.
Where we refer to a certification, laboratory report or compliance test relating to a base resin, raw material, supplier formulation or specified batch, that reference does not mean that every TraceMatter™ formulation, filament, printed object or SoftTrace Studio product has been separately certified or tested. The scope stated on the relevant certificate or report controls.
Certification marks, reports and third-party logos remain subject to the rights and rules of their owners. You must not copy or use them in a way that falsely suggests certification, approval, sponsorship or endorsement of your own product or activity.
Nothing on this website should be treated as permission or advice to dispose of material in the natural environment, marine environment or ordinary waste stream. Follow the disposal guidance supplied with the relevant product and the facilities and rules available in your location.
7. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, we own or are licensed to use the intellectual property rights in this website and its content, including text, photographs, graphics, renders, video, layouts, product designs and original material studies.
SOFTTRACE STUDIO and TraceMatter™ are names and marks used by us. Use of this website does not grant you any right to use our brand names, logos, product names or visual identity.
You may view the website and save or print a reasonable extract for your personal reference or internal business evaluation. You must not, without our prior written permission:
- reproduce, republish, sell, license or commercially exploit substantial website content;
- use our images, copy, designs or material studies to market another product or service;
- remove copyright, trade mark, credit or rights notices;
- present our content as your own;
- use our brand, content or product information in a way that suggests a partnership, approval or endorsement that does not exist; or
- use automated tools to extract substantial amounts of website content or data.
Content clearly provided as downloadable press material may be used only for genuine editorial coverage of SoftTrace studio or TraceMatter™, with an appropriate credit and without misleading alteration. Any separate usage instructions supplied with that material also apply.
Third-party names, marks, images, reports and other content belong to their respective owners and may be used only as permitted by those owners or by law.
8. Enquiries, applications and material you send us
You must make sure that information you submit through the website is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to send it.
Do not submit unlawful, harmful, misleading, infringing or malicious content. Do not submit another person’s personal information unless you have a lawful reason and their permission where required.
General enquiries and unsolicited ideas are not treated as confidential. Please do not send confidential designs, formulas, unpublished inventions, commercially sensitive information or trade secrets unless we have first agreed in writing how that information will be handled. Submitting an enquiry does not create a partnership, agency, employment, fiduciary or exclusive relationship.
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give us permission to use, copy and share it only as reasonably needed to review your request, respond to you, operate our business and comply with law. We will not publish your submitted work, name or project as a case study without permission or another lawful basis.
Applications and requests may be accepted or declined at our reasonable discretion. Submission does not guarantee a reply, a sample, participation in testing, a collaboration or future supply.
Our Privacy Notice applies to personal information submitted through the website.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use this website:
- for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- to infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- to transmit malware, harmful code, spam or abusive material;
- to gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its server or connected systems;
- to interfere with the website’s operation, security or availability;
- to impersonate SoftTrace Studio or another person;
- to make false or misleading claims about your relationship with us; or
- to collect information from the website or its users through scraping or other automated means at a scale that places an unreasonable burden on the website or bypasses technical controls.
We may restrict access and take appropriate action if we reasonably believe the website is being misused.
10. Links to other websites
Links to third-party websites are provided for information or convenience. Unless we expressly say otherwise, a link does not mean that we endorse, control or accept responsibility for that website, its operator, its products or its content.
Third-party websites have their own terms and privacy practices. You should review them before using those websites.
You may link to our public homepage in a fair and lawful way that does not damage our reputation or suggest an association, approval or endorsement that does not exist. You must not frame this website within another website or link from a website containing unlawful or misleading material. We may ask you to remove a link where reasonably necessary.
11. Security
We take reasonable steps to maintain the website, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be secure or free from bugs, viruses or other harmful code.
You are responsible for using suitable security software and protecting your devices and data. You must not knowingly introduce malicious or technologically harmful material or attempt to test the website’s security without written permission.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
If you are using the website as a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
If you are using the website for business purposes, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we exclude implied conditions, warranties and representations relating to the website and its content;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, data, goodwill, reputation or business opportunity; and
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the website or reliance on its general content.
We are not responsible for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, third-party websites or services, incompatibility with your systems, or your failure to follow current product-specific instructions and appropriate safety guidance.
13. Changes to these terms or the website
We may update these terms when the website, our services or legal requirements change. The revised terms will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
Changes apply from the date they are published. They do not change a contract already formed under separate agreed terms unless that contract allows the change or the parties agree to it.
14. If part of these terms is invalid
Each section of these terms operates separately. If a court or relevant authority finds any part unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
If we do not enforce a right immediately, that does not mean we have waived it.
15. Governing law and courts
These terms and any non-contractual dispute relating to them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you use the website for business purposes, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, you may bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and we may bring proceedings against you only in the courts that apply under consumer law. If you live outside the United Kingdom, any mandatory rights available to you under local law remain unaffected.
